Dancer/Choreographer Greta Schoenberg earned a BFA in Ballet from the University of Utah and went on to dance professionally in Europe and San Francisco, where she is now a choreographer and producer of dance films and events.
Her short dance films have been screened throughout the Bay Area, including at Stanford University, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, The Roxie Cinema, Ninth Street Independent Film Center, Artists’ Television Access, The San Francisco Art Institute, Dance Mission, CounterPulse, Pirate Cat Radio, and in London at the London International Dance Film Festival.
In early 2008 Ms. Schoenberg founded Motion Pictures, a collective for artists working with dance on camera that has presented screening events in local galleries, dance theaters, and independent screening rooms.
In March 2010 Motion Pictures launched the first annual San Francisco Dance Film Festival, a full weekend including screenings of over twenty local and international shorts, filmmaking and editing workshops, interactive media installations and special guests, hosted by the Ninth Street Independent Film Center. www.motionpictures-sf.com
